This is a case of the brutal and horrible murders of three boys in Henryville Indiana in the 1970s.
This case shocked and frightened our community. It bred distrust between neighbors and was the source of a lot of gossip about Satanists, a serial killer, etc.,

This was, formerly, a thread on a local forum. I encourage anyone who knows about the case to provide information. I apologize to anyone who
is offended because they came here seeking humor. This was a serious and ugly event.

I wonder why there is no interest in this?

I don't think there is a lack of interest in the topic. When it was on the EN forum, this was one of the most commented on and viewed topics.

I think that, first, one of the downsides of the format of the blog is that posts 'sink' as time passes. Unlike the Chatter, where a post of interest will stay on 'display' the format of this blog doesn't allow that. Second, Goliathandwimmens is first and foremost intended as 'humor' (even though many might say..lame humor).
Anyway, I think those are the primary reasons. GAW doesn't have as wide a readership either. Perhaps I will figure out a way to
present the issue that is more lasting and more encouraging for people to comment on. I started the
thread on the EN site and learned a good deal about the case through it.

Please feel free to comment on this topic. Perhaps I should "bring it back up" in the main page.

The reason you think their is lack of intrest isbecause of the following:
I remember very much the murders.
some say a very prominent person did them or a member of a very PRominet family.
Some said drugs were involved, that huge amounts of dope use to be flown in and the drop was in the areas where persons where at the wrong place at the wrong time.
some say that it is known by few who did it.
some said people were afraid to talk.
I say I hope whomever did it "Lord have mercy on their rotten souls."

We had a good thread going on this back on the EN FORUM. Maybe we can share information on it again.

It's been over 30 years! No one is going to be arrested for it. I've married & raised 2 children since it happened yet these kids will never get that opportunity. Authorities saying they're working on it & making families fear for their lives to look into it is crazy. That's intimidation using fear so that there's no pressure on them while nothing will ever be done. Prominent people in little ole Henryville IN? More prominent than Ted Bundy was?? PLEASE Excuses are worn out & person who did it is probably & hopefully dead by now. They pacify that they're working it to keep people from making an uproar about a possible killer still roaming or them not doing their jobs. Nothing will ever be done at this late date. Sad that you can commit murder in Indiana, as long as it's in a small backwards town of who's who, & get away with it. Makes you also wonder who's pocket was greased. I knew one of the victim's family, went to school in another county before they moved to Henryville, & met the victim on one occasion. I'm filing this under gross injustice & closing it in my mind. Small towns scattered across IN are notorious for this sort of thing, especially Southern Indiana in the hills. Let God sort out the fools & thank goodness I moved South!

I am from Memphis, IN and am about the same age as the Sweeney boy who was murdered would have been if his life hadnt been taken. It is a shame that this southern IN community calls themselves Christians but want to "forget" and sweep this under the rug. Including the retired detectives that supposedly "investigated" this case. I have since moved away from the area but am haunted by these unsolved murders. I certainly pray that whoever was responsible will meet their fate and burn in hell. that is why Police Departments created Cold Case Units so that cases like this can be solved even after 30 years!! If the murderer is still alive he WILL get what is coming to him if not in the earthly life then God will make sure he is punished. Justice will prevail somehow, someday and the families of the victims can be in peace.

My father inlaw was one of the detectives that worked these cases I can tell you he did not sweep nothing under the rug still bothers him till this day and will till he dies

Can this not be turned into 48 hours or 60 minutes for investigation? There is a lot I know, but wish to remain quiet at the moment....My father and his family were all farmers in the community, and I to believe someone knows something they arent telling.
