THE REAL DEAL

Teresa Bottorff Perkins is a graduate of Jeffersonville High School where she was an honor roll student. She was a long time classroom teacher, first starting in the fall of 1970. She is an ISTA member, has been a delegate to the Democrat State Convention, holds undergraduate and advanced degrees from Indiana University, has received several state certifications including a principal's license and administrator's license, and is certified in a planning capacity. She is a life long resident of Jeffersonville whose family has been here for many generations. Even though she has not sought elective public office before, she has been keenly aware of and involved with public policy issues. She clearly understands both the benefits and the limitations of government. She very well comprehends that, especially in tough times, governments must live within their means just like families must . She understands that the distribution of government funds and resources must be closely monitored and wisely allocated. She understands the problems that occur with excessive taxation and the subsequent waste of taxpayers' resources. She has served as a principal and assistant school corporation administrator . Teresa has restored a historic property and supported economic growth in Clark County, including business, industrial, and residential development. She understands the need for the future development of our tax base to provide for a better life and better place to live for all of our citizens. Even though she is "an outsider to having run for public office before", she has networked very well and has extensive contacts. She has a reputation as being very fair and knowledgeable and very good to work with. She is charming, thorough, well prepared, unpretentious, and a hard working problem solver. She gets things done. She is accessible and she listens. Among her many responsibilities and extensive work experience is being very involved with the budgets of a $63,000,000 a year school corporation. Without going into too much detail or attempting to speak for her, this is a quick overview of her background, experience, and ability. I am sure that she will be releasing a lot more information as the campaign unfolds. You can be certain that will she not be afraid to express her ideas about issues that are important to Jeffersonville and Clark County. She will have intelligent, well thought out solutions. When you meet and talk with her, you will be impressed with her.  Jeffersonville would be very fortunate to have a person like her serve as mayor.

This blows me away. Jeffersonville really would be fortunant to have her serve as mayor. This looks like an upset in the making! Both in the Spring and in the Fall.

Drama! There will be some very cool political intrigue in this year's mayor's race. 'Ol Draino! predicts that as the initial campaign starts to take hold, in two weeks or so, there will be an attempt to hold back TBP. Also, rumors of a shake up dealing with both the Republican power brokers and the Democrat power brokers around April 1st!

GAW Update! A poll of Jeffersonville voters taken Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday asked about choices among the four Democrat primary candidates, a match up between the four different Dems against the Republican one-on-one in the fall, and a three way race in the fall. The fall race asked about a three way race among the Democrat , the Republican, and a Libertarian/Tea Party candidate. Anonymous Draino!

I have heard the two names "certain factions" want for the new Dem Chair. Both are weak and can't accomplish much. ? Any GAW readers out there with any idea? Draino!

Did NSNHBM resign yet?
I have an idea! I read that there are ELEVEN women running in this year's primaries. How about a female Chairperson! It might not be too popular on the GAW or the Bat-Blog or (especially) the CCC, but how about "ABBYSNANA " for chairperson? She might not have the time to devote to it, but she might be just what Clark County politics needs!

Oh, hell, if we’re going to go THAT far into the silliness of "silly season," I hereby nominate myself, Cindiloohoo, for the heretofore ignored (but obviously desperately needed) post of "Minister of Culture" for Jeffersonville, as a representative of the P.A.G.A.N. party (People Against Graft and Nepotism). We will rally every full moon...free goat skin leggings for everyone!!!
