One Southern Indiana makes Endorsements?
Greetings all! Yes, I have been away working on various projects. But, as I still have a few 'chits' with Goliath, he has approved my posting this article to express my metrosexual disgust with "One Southern Indiana" and it's 'political endorsements'.
But, before I do that, let me pause just a moment to express my disgust for the name they have "One Southern Indiana". Wow. I bet that sounded great over in the boardroom. Or over the luncheon at Kyes. They can even be really cool and metrosexual and just write 1SI. How very digitalized of them. Michael Dalby is the president of this glorified Chamber of Commerce. (Ra Ra). As if vilifying those who oppose the idea of tolls on the bridges was not sufficient to paint himself as an out of touch quasi official who we have to endure as a so called 'representative' of our Region, he has now led the Chamber of Commerce to make political endorsements.
GAG ME WITH A SPOON.
Here is a portion of the 'opinion' by Mr. Dalby.
"One Southern Indiana's Board of Directors ratified the following endorsements as recommended by its Public Policy Council at the board’s Sept. 23 meeting: In the Indiana District 46 State Senate race — Ron Grooms, in the Indiana District 72 State Representative race — Ed Clere, in the Indiana District 71 State Representative race — Steve Stemler, in the Indiana 9th Congressional District race — Todd Young"

Well, now we know what the bankers of Southern Indiana think. Plus, proof they are morons. (wait... did I just say that?) The endorsement of Todd Young over Baron Hill
is especially egregious. Not that I like Baron Hill. I don't. But, I am not a moron. (some may disagree with the last point...but I swear I have a test score to prove not a moron! Plus, some of my teachers liked me.)
Here is a sampling of 'comments' by readers of the EN column
One day he says he wants public-private partnerships. The next day 1SI endorses only Republicans in contested races. Actions speak louder than words. The endorsements make it more difficult to form public-private partnership between 1SI and cities where mayors and councilman are not Republicans." "Frank"
"Mr. Dalby is becoming more and more a liability for 1SI. First he discredits himself intentionally spreading misinformation about various local projects, whether it be bridges or 1SI activities in New Albany or something else. Second, he dismisses people who disagree (including traffic engineers with regard to the bridges project) by calling them delusional and other childish names. Now he has turned 1SI into a political organization which will no doubt turn away many of its members." 'A.B'
Perhaps '1SI' will wake up and realize that they are developing hatred amongst the peasants and vote out Mr. Dalby ASAP. Then they can get someone who does what a Chamber of Commerce is supposed to do. Help the local businesses out, have luncheons,
give each other awards and as Jimmy Stewart says...quietly go about the business of
being RESPECTABLE republican businessmen (and women).
