Goliath on Defeat.

Well,  as all old warriors know, its not always sunshine and fair weather.  Goliath  was called upon to give his all in a mighty cause.  And,  though we gird the loins,  take up the sword and spear and march into the fray with head high and spirits soaring,  it sometime happens that the foe is  too mighty,  too swift and too well prepared.

Goliath found a new good friend.  This one here happened to be a wimmens.  She was gifted with all good qualities what Goliath so admires.  (As many he lacks himself.)   Teresa and Goliath met one day whilst Goliath was stumbling along on Spring Street.  She had a saucy gait and a sly look and a smile playing about the corners of her mouth.
As we talked,  I see right away, whoa! "This one here smart".  So, when she ask Goliath to join her in a crazy
quest for this here podunk town what we calls home,  Jeffersonvilles,  Goliath sign on the dotted line and begin preparing for the battle ahead.  

Right away Teresa announce she in the race,  one of the big warriors she face seem to  'show tail' and run across to the other side of the river to fight from there.  Smart move, if  not the bravest,  as he have that side of the riverbank all to himself to gather up strength for big fight in November.   Goliath raised his mighty sword
and hailed him...."We will join with you there in battle" and turn to fight the one here...in May. In the week of the Derby and against many fine warriors what Goliath actually like and all.    However, Goliath dead dog convinced his Lady was only one could whip the one over there...Mike.

Goliath soon deploy his sockpuppet Pesty to the god forsaken wastelands of the Chatter to do battle with the
naysayers and  prevericators and to try and win the "silent ones"  over to the TBP cause.   Pesty keep running back and telling Goliath,  "they say she's got John Perkins with her".  Goliath say,  "what?  she was married to the guy for about 30 year.  But she ain't gonna take him into office with her".  Pesty tell them but they like this here lie so good, they keep on telling it.  Then they say, "Well, Keith Fetz,  he a no good dad blasted tree hugging liberal forward thinking progressiveist type what actually works for a living for the Great Satan Pepper Cooper!"  Jeesh!!!   So Pesty tell Goliath this here.  Now Goliath KNOWS  Pepper Cooper very well in years gone past, and he ain't seen Pepper Cooper even so much as sniffing around Campaign. He too big in Tommy's Camp.  "How can we strike out at that kind of damn lie?!"   But, Goliath deploy his big
International Film Company to portray these demonous fiends that swirl up the lies and falsehoods against

Still they come with the lies, cantuminations and so on.  Meanwhile,  one valiant Warrior send emmisssaries,
"Let us make Peace, for a time, and call a limit on the rules of HONORABLE COMBAT".  Goliath hear very well these words of entreaty,  but,  He take these here to Teresa and she SCORN such limits.  "I have already promised a fair fight" she say "I need not sign contracts or say anymore on this matter". Whoa! Goliath impressed! And true to word, his  Leader live up to this honorable courageous (avoid the backroom deal) conduct!  Now Goliath even more and more dedicated!

Goliath sit down at many and many a war council and advise on stratergies,  weak points,  talking points and
the like.   It soon come that choices must be made which is hard...but,  the Leader, she takes these times and
makes  many Hard decisions.  Right or wrong...she make them.  The fight proceed.

On the day of the final battle,  the troops are all in the field,  each fighting with all strengths and with all gifts
according to their talents including Goliath.   At the end of the day,  (6pm) the battle is done.   Goliath return to Teresa's castle.  The Sprout is with him because Goliath wish for the Sprout to see how this great Lady handle what Fate will decree...Victory or Defeat.     As the battle numbers come in,  Goliath see it to be
a defeat for his cause.  But, the Leader?  She is exhausted,  and her face sunburned from standing by her
battle station all day but she meet this Loss with same Spirit Goliath imagine she would meet a Victory. She
Laughs,  she curses,  She encourages all around her and in the midst of all the tumult and activity...she take
time out to speak to the Sprout (who is sad her hero lose)  and tell her truths about life and winning and losing. Then she takes Sprout and they spend a quarter hour selecting a perfect doll from the Leaders big
collection.  Then she say,  "We are going to HQ and congratulate Tom and get behind him. He won".

Goliath, frankly, not up in spirit to go and  see that scene just yet. Goliath the kind of giant that likes to win and struggle all his life with feeling what come with losing. That's what happens when you've had your head cut off before.   Sure, Goliath will now put on the old armor for Tom and fight the good fight for his cause and no doubt about it.   But, DAMN!  This woman would have been a great leader for
the City and old Goliath.

 He and Sprout went home and Sprout put her new doll in a special place.  Goliath lay down early and rise.
There is another big fight in November.  Time will come to win there and to the man across the river, we will be seeing you there.  but, for now, Goliath heal up his old scars and wounds.

On the morning, Goliath see Tom on the street. Hello Victor!  This here a good meeting.  Goliath not feel bad about Tom. Goliath like him. But then Pesty come running in,  "Goliath, they are over there on the Chatter saying Teresa was just a 'plant' for Tom and the race wasn't for real".   Goliath wish he couldn't believe such
lies could be told. But, then....these are the lies of those from the camp of the one across the river...the one
that crossed over there when Teresa entered the race.  Goliath actually pity them what cannot recognize true
grace and spirit when it right there in front of them.   This is why they are likely to be defeated.
