Louisville has one called "Yard Ape." Singular.
They have a pretty picture of yard with flowers and a nice hanging basket on their web site.

"Yard Ape in Louisville, KY has been offering a wide range of yard services since 1982. We specialize in reshaping overgrown shrubbery where the owner and operator will be present at each job. We guarantee quality service at affordable prices."

Is Little Old Jimmy Bivens related to Little Jimmy Dickens?

Jimmy Dickens, is an American country music singer famous for his humorous novelty.

"PAL"?

Such an insentive

"greeting retort"
fired at Brother Goliath!

Really, it was "sorta, kinda"
SNORTED at the Big Guy!

It is apparent that the poster meant to insult the concerned mighty G.

Bluto.

"Handbasket?"
"Handbag?"

Ouch!

Bluto.
Breaking news from the Giant's News Bureau (GNB!)
In depth analysis and information!

You know Goliath, some of the professors at the journalism school were discussing last night the specifically American brand of the concepts of
"freedom of speech"
vs "politically correct speech policing".

Interesting discussion.

Is it chilling or does it protect?
Is it good or does it go too far?

Is the "policing of speech" being used against the JHS head varsity baseball coach, Al Rabe, because what he said was really that bad?
Should he be allowed some leeway in expression?
Should he be taken at his word that he has not been racist and did not intend to degrade or harm, even slightly?
Is the turmoil because someone wants him replaced as the coach because of a hidden agenda?

Bluto, you Dog!

Someone got their panties in a twist and

I like it.

"Snorted a retort"!

Ha!

G: Your mail box is full.
This technology thing is a drag.
Call the farm in Virginia.
BREAKING GNB REPORT!!
IN DEPTH REPORTING IN GAW MISSED BY THE BIG MEDIA BOYS!

Someone whom was there at the time of the "remark" by Jeffersonville High School Varsity Baseball Coach Al Rabe has spoken with a rep of the journalism school!
He heard the original statement and the later explanation.

The journalism school has, of course, been privy to the "padded portible chair back throwing incident" of last baseball season by a parent who was allegedly upset because Coach Rabe chose not to play his son very much.

The story is that this individual has influence with a member of the school board. That's where this all started.

The other side of the coin is that there are concerns over two other parents who allegedly greatly influence the current coach and their kids get playing time.

One of those parents is, according to sources, a real "work of art" pain in the a**. That parent has coached and is highly egotistical.

An age old story.
Parent vs parent, a coach trying to make decisions, with a modern method of manipulation by utilizing ONE untoward remark as ground for removal.
Interpretation of the speech is the contention.
Intent.
Goliath understands well both the concept of intent
and the behind the scenes political posturing.

Then throw in the
"ruling faction"
that has VERY smugly influenced GCCS for quite some time
and their fight against the
new superintendent and you get a bigger picture.

This isn't just someone's use of an indelicate or unsophisticated phrase to emphasize a motivational point to athletes.
It isn't just a subjective interpretation of the meaning or intent or impact of the spoken word.
It isn't just a coach trying to motivate his team and using a "noun or phrase of primary potency".

It is, as usual, a political battle for control and revenge.

DUDE, THIS IS ABOUT
WHO MAKES THE TEAM,
WHAT POSITION THEY GET TO PLAY, AND ...THE ACTUAL AMOUNT OF PLAYING TIME!

Face it, he E-N and the C-J can't provide the GAW's insight.

Goliath it is important to make a distinction here. GG came on and was a little concerned that you had said The Chatter was going to hell in a handbasket and you correctly made the distinction that some posters were going to hell in a handbasket.

I find it true that there is a ton of negativity going on over there right now. However, I find purpose in trying to reply to all of that negativity with something positive. For example when NSBHM made the post about Tom Galligan as a basketball coach and tried to make it seem negative I pointed out that it was indeed a positive, not a negative. I have also noticed that posters like Jules try to do the same thing. What we need is more positive posting on the chatter and we will see these negative posts start to lose traction. I would challenge everyone to keep things positive. When you see something negative find a way to turn it positive and flip the script on the negative thinkers. Dale Carnegie has shown us that positive mental attitude always overcomes negative. We need to practice what he preached.

Yes, yes.....as brother "Bluto" has well pointed out to us,
it is most important that Golaith's wise reporting should not have negative
"RETORTS SNORTED" at the Big Guy.

The GAW message: "Please don't get your panties in a twist
and 'snort out a retort' ".

BTW, I thought that the analysis of the baseball coaching job situation as reported by the GNB was excellent!
Keep up the good work!

G:
Dude, I was just reading on the Award Winning Bat-Blog
about a "perjorative"
and how word meanings can change over time, with groups, etc.

So, G, If GG calls you "Pal"
and lays into your latte drinkin' a** in an insentitive manner, could "Pal" really be interpreted by some as a way of saying "Punk"?

Is the CCC that jealous?

"Perjorative".

A definition from Wikipedia: Pejoratives[1] (or terms of abuse) are words or grammatical forms that connote negativity and express contempt or distaste. Sometimes a term may begin as a pejorative word and eventually be adopted in a non-pejorative sense. In historical linguistics, this phenomenon is known as melioration, or amelioration, or semantic change (e.g., "punk"). Within some social groups, a particular term is still regarded as being a pejorative, whereas the term is not deemed as such within another social group elsewhere (e.g., "hacker").
