In April 1977 the transportation planner for the Kentuckiana Regional Planning and Development Agency said that the agency's 25 year master transporation plan originally called for the east end bridge to be built between 1985 and 1990. A revised plan at that time was expected to recommend that the bridge be built later than 1990.
Since the east end bridge is right on schedule, why do we even need tolls?
In 1996, the Ohio River Major Investment Study said they would urge the east end bridge be built first, then the downtown bridge and Spaghetti Junction, and a light rail system would be included.
And it will only cost us $721.8 million dollars.
Since Indiana already has over a billion dollars to cover two bridges, one interchange and a light rail system, why do we even need tolls?
In fact, doesn't this leave us with nearly $300 million dollars?
If we have $300 million dollars left over, why do we need tolls?
